The afternoon was a peaceful joy: the Massage Therapists: Sue and Jane, Indian Head Massage Therapist: Eleanor, Reflexologist: Mariana, Osteopath: Gill, Life Coach: CiCI, Alexander Technique: Dee and Tui Na Massage: Christopher had a gentle flow of clients throughout the the afternoon - who all positively glowed after their treatments. Gratitude to all the therapists for giving so generously of their time and skills.
Evening: The Abhina Cabaret, 7pm - 10pm
With real Sri Lankan snacks and a free glass of wine or fruit juice a tropical atmosphere was created. The Home cooked Sri lankan cuisine, provided by Padmini and Chandra, was one of the hits of the evening. Sue gave a short speech explaining why everyone had gathered: the history behind The Abhina Foundation UK and our commitment to providing education in the performing arts. The evening's entertainment started with singer Tom and guitarist George - whose one song left everyone wanting more. Amy Finnegan was relaxed, warm and sung her heart out for us. Simon accompanied Amy's wonderful singing. After Amy Paula gave short but beautiful recital on her flute.

Nicholas then handled the raffle with wit - lots of lovely prizes donated by friends. And the evening ended with African drumming led by Doug with his djembe group. Everyone (well almost) had a good dance.
Tilini Weerasingha, Kandy Dance, was unable to be with us, she is still in Sri Lanka and we hope she is with us very soon to start her studies here. Together we raised just over one thousand pounds! A wonderful start to supporting our planned educational projects. If you wish to donate to the Abhina Foundation UK please contact

After the Ball was over and everyone has gone home, teenagers start to dance... beautifully!
